David Finke

David Finke leads the firm's Technology sector in the Americas, while co-leading the Digital Transformation practice and the Hardware and Electronics practice globally. Based in Palo Alto, David conducts CEO, board director and senior-level executive assignments for public and private equity-backed mobile, semiconductor, computer systems, and cleantech companies. David focuses on addressing the challenges and opportunities brought about by the rise of connected mobile devices and the accompanying blurring of the lines between traditional industry segments. Additionally, he is known for leading many of the top operations and supply chain searches in the Technology industry. His recent assignments include the CEO and a non-executive director for a publically traded semiconductor company, the Head of Global Connected Vehicle and Chief Infotainment Officer for a top global automotive manufacturer, and the top Supply Chain Officer for a leading global smart phone company.

Previous Experience

David has held senior management positions with public and private companies in the software, business services, computer systems and consumer electronics industries. Prior to joining Russell Reynolds Associates, David served as a senior executive in three venture-backed start-ups: Instill Corporation, an on-demand data and analytics provider; Closedloop Solutions, an enterprise software-as-a-service company; and XUMA, a systems integration and Web hosting venture. Previously, he led new product introduction and business process re-engineering efforts at Silicon Valley icon SGI. David began his career in Japan with Sony Corporation, where he gained a strong foundation in electronics and supply chain management.

Additional Professional Activities

David is a member of the Board of Trustees of Leadership Public Schools (LPS),a not-for-profit network of public charter high schools that serves ethnically and economically diverse student bodies located in or near low-income urban neighborhoods.

Education

David received his B.A., summa cum laude, in East Asian studies from Yale University and his M.B.A., with high distinction, from Harvard Business School. He is fluent in English and Japanese.
