René de Zwaan

René de Zwaan leads the firm's Global Financial Services Sector. Based in Amsterdam, René focuses on advising European financial services institutions and has conducted numerous high profile searches in banking, insurance and asset management, including several CEO and non executive director positions for major institutions across Europe.

Recent Client Experience

Recent assignments include advising various European governments regarding the future of the financial services landscape, the recruitment of board members for a global asset management firm, as well as CEO and CFO positions for some of the leading European financial services organisations. René has also worked on the assessment of various Executive Committees as part of the integration process following a merger, acquisition or nationalization.

Previous Experience

René has 13 years of international executive search experience, serving financial services clients and joined Russell Reynolds Associates in 1997. Previously, he worked for 10 years with ABN Amro in its investment management and investment banking divisions.

Education

René received his M.Sc. in economics from the Erasmus University of Rotterdam. He is fluent in Dutch, English, German and French.
