Stig Dahlgaard Berntzen

Stig Dahlgaard Berntzen conducts top-level searches for Norwegian, Danish and international clients across all industries in the Nordic area with an emphasis within retail, industry & natural resources, shipping, real-estate and financial services/private equity. He is based in Oslo and Copenhagen.

Recent Client Experience

Stig has solved numerous senior executive assignments including a CEO search for a large international shipping company headquartered in Norway, a Senior Vice President for a leading global oil service firm and a President position for a large international company within renewable energy.

In the retail sector Stig recently completed searches for a CEO, a CFO and a Danish Managing Director for one of the largest retail chains in the Nordic area. He has also completed a search for a CEO for a leading Nordic private equity backed specialty retailer.   

Previous Experience

Before joining Russell Reynolds Associates, Stig was with the Norwegian Trade Council and Ministry of Foreign Affairs, most recently as Commercial Counsellor and Head of the Copenhagen office, previously, Stig was Commercial Attaché for Norway in Germany and Belgium. Earlier, Mr. Berntzen spent two years with IBM Nordic.

Education

Stig  received his B.Sc. in business administration and economics at Copenhagen Business School and his M.Sc. in European Business Administration and Business law from Lund University.  He is fluent in Norwegian, Danish, English and German.
