Denise Grant

Denise Grant is the Area Manager for Washington D.C. She focuses on recruiting CEOs for Associations and other non-Profit organizations, and corporate Government Affairs Executives. Based in Washington, D.C., she leads the firm's Legal, Government and Regulatory Affairs, and Trade Association Practices. She is also a member of the firm's CEO/Board Services Practice.

Recent Client Experience

Denise has significant experience recruiting top executives in the public policy and legal arenas. She routinely works with companies of all sizes, as well as nonprofit organizations, to help them identify leadership solutions across the public policy and legal spectrum. Denise recently recruited Heads of Global Government Affairs/Public Policy for three of the world's largest companies. During the course of the searches, she counseled senior management as they benchmarked the various forms and structures of this role in other top-performing organizations. Another significant part of her public policy work is recruiting CEOs to trade associations and other public policy-focused organizations. She has successfully led many searches to find new CEOs for significant trade associations across a wide range of industry sectors, including financial services, technology, energy, health care, consumer, communications/media and entertainment. In the legal realm, she recently worked with another Fortune 10 company's top management to recruit a new General Counsel.

Previous Experience

Prior to joining Russell Reynolds Associates, Denise had a successful career in the public policy and legal arena in Washington, D.C. She practiced law for nearly a decade as an attorney with Morgan, Lewis & Bockius LLP and as Assistant General Counsel of a major trade association. During her legal career, Denise represented large, global companies and major trade associations, and counseled clients on regulatory and legal compliance matters. Further, Denise represented clients on legislative and regulatory matters before Congress, Federal Agencies, and state and local governments. She was also at Fannie Mae, where she served in a variety of leadership roles. Denise was a legal and legislative counsel in the United States Senate earlier in her career.

Additional Professional Activities

Denise is a member of the Bar of the State of Ohio and the District of Columbia Bar. She is admitted to practice before a number of federal courts, including the United States Court of Appeals for the D.C. Circuit and the United States Supreme Court.

Education

Denise received her B.A., magna cum laude, from Transylvania University as a business and economics major, and her J.D. from the University of Kentucky College of Law, where she was a member of the Law Review.
