Charlie Watson identifies, assesses, and develops senior executives for private equity and banking companies. He leads many of our projects in the real asset investment space (infrastructure, power, renewables, digital, energy transition, etc.), as well as focuses on related portfolio company management and board leadership.
Charlie gained executive assessment certification from Hogan, the leaders in science-based assessment, and is a Certified Executive Coach, having been awarded Level II honors after completing the Columbia Coaching Certification Program. He is also active in Executive Coaching as well as assessment for performance improvement and team composition. Charlie is based in Stamford, CT.
Prior to joining Russell Reynolds Associates, Charlie was a vice president and sector specialist, institutional equities, at J.P. Morgan. Prior to that, he was in a similar role at Deutsche Bank. Previously, he was an associate in Donaldson, Lufkin & Jenrette's Equities Research Department (later Credit Suisse First Boston). He began his career in Chemical Bank's private banking department, entrepreneurs and business owners division.
Charlie sits on the Board of Trustees of The Taft School and co-heads The Taft Fund. He also sits on the Parents' Committee. For years, he sat on the Board of Directors of the United States Adaptive Golf Association (USAGA) or its predecessor. The USAGA is a not-for-profit charitable organization dedicated to bringing joy and a sense of freedom to the special needs community through their inclusion in the game of golf. In addition, he served on the board of directors of the New Canaan Lacrosse Association for many years.
