Jina Abells Morissette

Jina Abells Morissette is a member of our Industrial and Natural Resources sector . Based in Calgary, she brings over 20 years of experience in law, large commercial transactions, corporate secretarial, and board governance. Prior to her search career, Jina was General Counsel at several energy companies, both public and private.

Her career began at Husky Energy where she supported a variety of clients, most notably the offshore and international group. She moved on to UTS Energy where she led the successful defense of a hostile takeover during her time as General Counsel and ultimately a friendly en bloc transaction. She was a member of the founding team of SilverBirch Energy, a publicly traded oil sands company that ultimately sold to Teck.

Jina is a member of the Alberta Bar and has both a Bachelor of Administration majoring in marketing from the University of Regina and an LLB (JD) from the University of Saskatchewan.
