"Leveraging diversity in the boardroom"—David Mills interviews Rima Qureshi, executive VP and chief strategy officer at Verizon, on the role that the chair and CEO play in unlocking the power of diversity.
Rima has more than 30 years of global experience in the technology and communications industries. She started her new role as executive vice president and chief strategy officer at Verizon in November 2017. Verizon's chairman and CEO, Lowell McAdam, described Rima as a "game changer for Verizon." Previously, Rima was president and CEO of North America at Ericsson. She also holds a number of non-executive roles, including at MasterCard. Rima is a passionate advocate of diversity and inclusion in the workplace.
In this podcast, David Mills, managing director in the technology sector at Russell Reynolds Associates, will question Rima on the critical role of the chair and CEO in driving the diversity and inclusion agenda in the workplace. He will uncover Rima's perspective on why these roles are so important and the qualities and competencies chairs and CEOs need in order to create inclusive working environments. This enables organizations to fully unlock the power of diversity.
