Margot McShane co-leads Russell Reynolds Associates’ Global Board & CEO Advisory Practice (BCAP). She is a senior advisor to corporate boards on a range of critical leadership issues, including CEO succession planning and recruitment, board succession planning and refreshment, IPO preparedness and board diversity. An expert in senior executive talent, Margot has extensive experience working at the intersection of consumer, retail, technology, and digital transformation, as well as helping clients at every stage of the growth continuum to advance their strategic vision through talent.
Based in San Francisco, Margot previously co-led the firm’s Global Consumer Digital & Media Practice. Her clients range from global Fortune 500 to private equity and venture-capital-backed companies.
Margot co-founded RRA Artemis, a movement to increase the number of women CEOs globally. The movement aims to uncover new insights, reshape perspectives, and support the development of more CEO-ready women to support clients’ effort to create more robust CEO succession pipelines. At the core of the movement is our pioneering women CEO accelerator development program.
Prior to joining Russell Reynolds Associates, Margot was a director in global brand management for Gap, Inc. Before that role, she served as Director of Marketing at Odwalla, a fresh juice company acquired by The Coca-Cola Company, and worked for advertising agencies, where she primarily served packaged goods clients, including Procter & Gamble and The Clorox Company.
