Nicole Mai

Nicole heads Russell Reynolds Associates’ Berlin office and advises publicly-traded, family-owned and private-equity/venture capital-backed companies and their boards, providing critical insights on both transformative and traditional businesses. She excels at recruiting and assessing top executive talent and board members who can navigate complexity while prioritizing sustainability, digitalization, and diversity. Furthermore, she leads Russell Reynolds’ EMEA Media & Entertainment Practice.

Nicole brings a wealth of experience in the technology, digital, media, and financial services sectors. She has extensive expertise in advising her clients on transformation.

She previously served as head of technology for the digital and media practice group for a family-owned management consulting firm. Prior to this, Nicole co-founded an online business magazine for women, which was sold to one of Germany’s largest media companies. She began her career in marketing and media sales at Holtzbrinck Group (DIE ZEIT and Handelsblatt).

Nicole has an advanced degree in economics from the University of Bonn in Germany. She is fluent in German and English, and is proficient in French.
